Actually, it not only wasn’t in 1979 that a homer was hit in shorts, it wasn’t Jack Brohamer. It was Jorge Orta, in the very first game in shorts:



Actually, the White Sox weren't wearing shorts in that game; the shorts didn't make their debut until August 8, two days later.


Wait -- I didn't know that Adam LaRoche had already retired!
