That's right, folks! I don't have any copies of Stars and Strikes: Baseball and America in the Bicentennial Summer of '76 to sell yet, but I've still got a sizeable stack of Big Hair and Plastic Grass first edition hardcovers in my office. And since I could definitely use some gas and food money for my upcoming Stars and Strikes midwestern promo tour, now seems as good a time as any to remind you of their existence...
If you've been wanting to get yerself an autographed hardcover copy of what ESPN called "the swinging book the '70s deserve," just send me $25 (plus $5 shipping) via the PayPal link at the bottom of this post, and I will wing you an autographed first edition of BH&PG forthwith. I'll sign it to you, your spouse, your relative, your pal, your boss, your dog, your cat, anyone you want — just be sure to let me know if the name of the signee is different than the one on your mailing address. If you want me to personalize it further, just put the name of your giftee's favorite 70s player or team in the box below, and I'll wittily incorporate them into the inscription.
Oh yeah — for whatever reason (and as Rob Neyer has noted in the comments section below), I can't seem to get the PayPal widget to allow folks to buy more than one copy at a time. If you want to buy more than one copy, message me c/o this site and we'll figure out a way that you can do so without being charged multiple times for shipping...
Thanks as always for your support,
Dan
Dan, this is for a friend of mine who was a huge Mets fan as a kid. I wish this order form allowed me to order more than one book at a time, though!
