"Hey, Dan," I can hear you saying, "WTF?!? I can't make any of these events, and/or you're not coming to my town — how can I get you to sign a copy of Stars and Strikes for me or my friend/relative/significant other?" Don't worry, I've got ya covered!
I've made arrangements with Booked By Harriet, the bookseller who is handling the sales at my Manitoba's event in NYC on June 29, to enable you to get a personalized copy. Just shoot Harriet an email (bookedbyharriet@hotmail.com) before 12 noon EST on Monday, June 23, and tell her that you'd like a signed copy of Stars and Strikes. She will be email you back (or call, if you give her your phone #) to get your shipping and payment info — the price, which includes the book and tax ($31.00) plus shipping ($6.25), totals $37.25 — as well as any specifics from you regarding how you'd like me to personalize your copy. I'll sign the book at Manitoba's, and then she'll wing it off to you shortly thereafter...
Once again, you've gotta get in touch with her by 12 noon EST on Monday, June 23, in order to avoid disappointment. And we'd all like to avoid disappointment, right?
And thanks again to everyone who has bought, reviewed or otherwise supported Stars and Strikes!
Dan, I thought the book was outstanding - however I did find some proofreading errors, to wit:
p.116, 1st paragraph, 3rd line: "Africanized bees were going fly up from Mexico" ???
p. 116, 2nd paragraph, 5th sentence: ..."two figures jump out of the left field pavilion and LANDON the outfield grass."
p. 288: "Giants traveling secretary Frank Berganzi, a the 58-year-old shipper ..."

Thanks, Abe! The Africanized bees thing isn't an error, though — the so-called killer bees resulted from Western honey bees being cross-bred with their African cousins, hence becoming "Africanized". The other two gaffes somehow slipped past me and the several editors and proof readers involved with the book, but even Brooks Robinson bobbled one now and then!
