Here's the details:
Dan Epstein will read from and sign his new book, BIG HAIR & PLASTIC GRASS: A FUNKY RIDE THROUGH BASEBALL & AMERICA IN THE 1970s, at Stories in Echo Park (1716 W. Sunset Blvd), from 7 to 9 pm. Free beer and peanuts while they last — and the first 50 folks to show up get free packets of Big League Chew (probably NOT laced with LSD, but you never know).
Afterwards, the festivities will move down the street to the Short Stop (1455 W. Sunset Blvd.), LA's only real baseball bar, where we'll celebrate the book's release with an evening of '70s soul, funk, disco and rock spun by Hott Wheels/Super Soul Sundays DJ Jennifer Tefft; Dan will also bust a move or three behind the wheels of steel, as well, most likely from around 10-11 pm. $3 Colt 45 specials til midnight, too! Afro wigs and funky 70s finery not mandatory, but certainly encouraged...
The whole thang is FREE and open to the public. Come on out, get on up, and by all means get on down!
